Fourth TECO worker dies after accident at plant

Tampa, FL — A fourth person has died from the TECO Apollo Beach industrial accident on June 29. Frank Lee Jones, 55, died Saturday, according to a company spokeswoman. Christopher Irvin, 42, and Michael McCort, 60, died the day of the accident. Antonio Navarette, 21, died Wednesday. Our news partners at The Tampa Bay Times say Jones was a contract worker with Gaffin Industrial Services in Riverview for 27 years.

Perryville firefighter killed while operating tow truck on I-95 in Cecil County

PERRYVILLE, Md. (WBFF) – A longtime Perryville volunteer died while operating a tow truck Sunday morning on I-95 in Cecil County, just north of the Millard Tydings Bridge over the Susquehanna River. Brian Williams has “been a member of this company continuously since 1985,” said Perryville Mayor Jim Eberhardt, noting that Williams was serving as a fire lieutenant and EMS captain. “He was a volunteer in the community for a long, long time, in many different areas.” He was also a member of Collette’s Service Center, working as a tow-truck driver. Williams, 51, was retrieving a 1993 purple Chevrolet Camaro with his Freightliner tow truck when both he and his truck were hit by a 2001 Jeep Cherokee driven by Eric Schlerf, 37, of Bel Air, reported Maryland State Police.
