Nunez <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wbay.com\/content\/news\/Fifth-person-dies-from-Didion-explosion-430540183.html\">died from his injuries suffered in the blast<\/a>. Three people died from the initial explosion at the milling facility in May. (The employee) attempted to do CPR, as instructed by the 911 operator, but to no avail.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<h3>Volunteer firefighter dies after injuries from blaze<\/h3>\n<div class=\"top_image_left\">\u00a0NARA VISA, NM \u2014 A Nara Visa volunteer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.easternnewmexiconews.com\/story\/2017\/06\/24\/news\/volunteer-firefighter-dies-after-injuries-from-blaze\/152936.html\">firefighter died<\/a> on Thursday after suffering burns trying to extinguish a fire that was more than seven miles long and three miles wide.\u00a0<strong>John Cammack<\/strong>, 74, of Nara Visa, was severely burned after falling from a fire engine during a &#8220;burn over&#8221; Wednesday night, said Nara Visa Fire Chief Gary Girard. Clackamas County sheriff&#8217;s deputies say the dump truck had some kind of mechanical issue that caused it to go into motion. The worker who was killed has not been identified. The driver stayed at the scene. Deputies said neither the dump truck driver nor the flagger were employees of NW \u00a0Natural. Construction sites have been deadly for two other construction workers in recent weeks<strong>. Pablo Dominguez-Amezcua<\/strong>, 48, of Portland, <a href=\"http:\/\/katu.com\/news\/local\/one-dead-in-happy-valley-crash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was killed May 23 while working a construction<\/a> site on Southeast 122nd Avenue, also in Happy Valley. \u00a0And on June 6, 57-year-old <a href=\"http:\/\/katu.com\/news\/local\/construction-worker-dies-after-being-hit-on-i5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ronald Davis<\/strong> was in his construction vehicle when was hit by another vehicle <\/a>on Interstate 5 just north of the Donald\/Aurora exit. The Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office reported that <strong>Aaron Rowe<\/strong> of Kissimmee, Fla., was attempting to fix a conveyor belt and had appeared to turn off power to the line he was working on. He then spliced the wires to make the connection to the motor. Unbeknownst to Rowe, a wire connected to the motor was live, and officials say the lock-out system used to shut off power was affixed to the wrong circuit breaker. Rowe, who suffered burns to his hands, was pronounced dead at Winter Haven hospital approximately one hour after being shocked.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"story-header\">\n<h3 class=\"title\">Woman killed by bear in Alaska was newly married<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"story-body-items\">\n<div class=\"dateline-storybody\"><span class=\"dateline\">ANCHORAGE, ALASKA &#8212;\u00a0<\/span>The employer of an Alaska contract mine <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/business\/article157671359.html\">worker killed by a black bear<\/a> says the woman was married less than two weeks before her death. The newlywed was 27-year-old<strong> Erin Johnson<\/strong> of Anchorage. Her co-worker, 38-year-old colleague Ellen Trainor of Fairbanks, sustained minor injuries in the attack Monday near the Pogo Mine, about 275 miles northeast of Anchorage. Employer Steve Murphy of the environmental services firm ABR Inc. also says he believes Trainor survived the frenzied attack by the &#8220;hyper aggressive&#8221; bear because she used bear deterrent spray. In a statement, Cook says work was being done on a sewer pit when one or both people became unresponsive. A police officer who responded to scene found a worker on the roadway who said his co-worker was inside the raised bucket, police Lt. Andy Block said. Fire crews assisted in lowering the bucket and found the 62-year-old line worker unresponsive inside, police said. Knutson<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"> was pronounced dead at Columbia-St. Mary&#8217;s Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<header class=\"article-header\">\n<h3 class=\"article-title\">Chicago Man Dies In Army Corps Industrial Accident In Alaska<\/h3>\n<p class=\"article-title\">ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) \u2013 The Army Corps of Engineers has identified the man killed on an Alaska construction project as a Chicago employee on temporary assignment. <strong>Melvin McLaurin<\/strong> died Monday afternoon<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kfqd.com\/chicago-man-dies-army-corps-industrial-accident-alaska\/\"> while operating heavy equipment <\/a>on the Chena River flood control project outside North Pole, Alaska. McLaurin worked as an engineering equipment operator lead with the Corps\u2019 Chicago District. The agency says McLaurin was operating a roller compactor on a stability berm and preparing the site to install a relief well. The compactor rolled just before 4 p.m. Emergency responders declared McLaurin dead about a half hour later.<\/p>\n<h3>Semi truck driver killed in fiery crash with freight train in Benton Co.<\/h3>\n<p>BENTON COUNTY, Wash. &#8211; A truck driver has <a href=\"http:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/local\/semi-truck-driver-killed-in-fiery-crash-with-freight-train\">died after a freight train slammed into his semi-trailer<\/a> rig as it was crossing tracks in Eastern Washington. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, near Plymouth in Benton County, at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a train derailment. \u00a0Officials told KEPR-TV News that responders found what was left of a semi attached to the first train engine in flames. Medics found the driver, 66-year-old <strong>Ronald Slagg<\/strong>, to be critically injured. The victim fell from a forklift about 2 p.m. at Goodwill Industries, 800 Central Ave. The department said in its blog that witnesses said the employee was operating the forklift when it flipped over and he was pinned under the machine. Coworkers freed the operator, a man believed to be in his early 50s, from underneath the forklift before firefighters arrived. The patient was declared dead by paramedics.<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<h3>Teller, suspect dead in north Mississippi bank robbery attempt<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>SALTILLO, Miss.\u00a0\u2014 A bank teller (<strong>Judy Guin<\/strong>)in Mississippi was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clarionledger.com\/story\/news\/2017\/06\/21\/mississippi-bank-robbery\/416259001\/\">killed during an attempted robbery<\/a>, and authorities say the suspect took her own life after a police chase. Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson tells the\u00a0Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal\u00a0a teller was killed Wednesday at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Mantachie, a town of about 1,100 residents.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\">Jasper man killed in rail haulage accident at Oak Grove Mine<\/h3>\n<p>BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) \u2014 A Jasper man <a href=\"http:\/\/wiat.com\/2017\/06\/20\/jasper-man-killed-in-rail-haulage-accident-at-oak-grove-mine\/\">lost his life Monday in an industrial accident<\/a>. According to the Seneca Coal company, <strong>Marius Y. Shepherd,<\/strong> 32, was fatally injured in a rail haulage accident at their Oak Grove Mine around 6:30 p.m. on June 19. Information from the Mine Safety and Health Administration indicates the accident happened underground. The federal Mine Safety and Health Administration and the Alabama Department of Labor are investigating, and a security guard at the mine said operations are on hold. Shepherd is the 9th coal mine fatality in the U.S. in 2017.<\/p>\n<section id=\"module-position-QDzT8eC7Ewk\" class=\"storytopbar-bucket story-headline-module story-story-headline-module\">\n<h3 class=\"asset-headline\">Second pedestrian fatality in Hebron near Amazon facility, sidewalk project underway<\/h3>\n<\/section>\n<div class=\"asset-double-wide double-wide p402_premium\" role=\"main\">\n<div id=\"module-position-QDzT-k2Rl7o\" class=\"story-asset inline-share-tools-asset\">Hebron, OH &#8212; An Amazon worker was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cincinnati.com\/story\/news\/2017\/06\/20\/pedestrian-hit-killed-hebron-street\/411349001\/\">hit and killed outside the company&#8217;s facility <\/a>in Hebron early Tuesday, according to the Boone County Sheriff&#8217;s Office. This is the second pedestrian fatality on Litton Lane in recent years. Deputies with the sheriff&#8217;s office were investigating in front of Amazon&#8217;s main trucking entrance in the 2200 block of Litton Lane off North Bend Road where <strong>Paula J. Newsom<\/strong>, 52, of Cincinnati, was struck by a concrete\u00a0mixer, they said. Newsome had just left work and was crossing Litton Lane to an overflow parking lot when she was struck by the mixer owned by Ernst Concrete Services and driven by Trannis Morgan, 66, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana.<\/div>\n<div id=\"story-header\">\n<h3 class=\"title\">Mayview firefighter killed, another seriously injured in crash at fire scene<\/h3>\n<p class=\"title\">\u00a0Mayview, Mo &#8212; A firefighter with the Mayview, Mo., Fire Protection District <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kansascity.com\/news\/local\/article157099839.html\">was killed<\/a> and a second firefighter was seriously injured in a crash while at the scene of a fire Monday.\u00a0<strong>Jeffery M. Sanders<\/strong>, 55, died at the scene and Jacob J. Hayward, 33, was flown to a Kansas City hospital, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. The three-vehicle crash happened about 6 p.m. south of Mayview along Route E in Lafayette County while Sanders and Hayward were outside of their vehicle. Mayview is 45 miles east of Kansas City. During the crash, the two firefighters became trapped under one of the vehicles as it went down an embankment. The man did not survive. \u00a0According to Littleton Fire, the man was with a crew working in a large tree on a sloped lawn. There were power lines nearby. He was about 30 feet up when the accident happened.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"box-header name\">Worker Electrocuted at Commercial Building in Livingston, Report States<\/h3>\n<p>LIVINGSTON, NJ \u2014\u00a0A worker was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tapinto.net\/towns\/livingston\/articles\/worker-electrocuted-at-commercial-building-in-liv\">electrocuted in a commercial building<\/a> at 53 West Mt. Pleasant Avenue, according to a report by the Breaking News Network (BNN) on Monday afternoon.\u00a0This incident has not yet been confirmed by police nor has the individual been identified. BNN, which monitors emergency radio activity, reported the paramedics pronounced the death of the individual and that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified.
