Perryville firefighter killed while operating tow truck on I-95 in Cecil County<\/h3>\n

PERRYVILLE, Md. (WBFF) – A longtime Perryville volunteer died while operating a tow truck<\/a> Sunday morning on I-95 in Cecil County, just north of the Millard Tydings Bridge over the Susquehanna River. Brian Williams<\/strong> has “been a member of this company continuously since 1985,” said Perryville Mayor Jim Eberhardt, noting that Williams was serving as a fire lieutenant and EMS captain. “He was a volunteer in the community for a long, long time, in many different areas.” He was also a member of Collette’s Service Center, working as a tow-truck driver. Williams, 51, was retrieving a 1993 purple Chevrolet Camaro with his Freightliner tow truck when both he and his truck were hit by a 2001 Jeep Cherokee driven by Eric Schlerf, 37, of Bel Air, reported Maryland State Police.<\/p>\n
