The House Appropriations Committee released its FY 2018 Interior and Environment Appropriations budget <a href=\"http:\/\/docs.house.gov\/meetings\/AP\/AP06\/20170712\/106242\/BILLS-115HR-SC-AP-FY2018-Interior-FY2018InteriorAppropriationsBill-SubcommitteeDraft.pdf\">bill<\/a> today <strong>and it fully funds the Chemical Safety Board.<\/strong> The Trump administration had recommended that the Board be eliminated. The sub-committee will vote on the bill tomorrow<\/p>\n<p>House Appropriations Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen <a href=\"https:\/\/appropriations.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=394981\">stated<\/a> that \u201cThis legislation responsibly supports the agencies and offices we rely on to preserve our natural resources for future generations, and prioritizes our limited funding to programs that protect environmental safety, such as the Chemical Safety Board.&#8221; \u00a0\u00a0Frelinghuysen is from New Jersey which has more than its share of refineries and chemical facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The full House and the Senate still need to vote on the CSB&#8217;s budget, but things are looking good.
