A report from Adams County Coroner James E. Lee identified the man as\u00a0<strong>Alexander\u00a0O.\u00a0Flores,<\/strong> 30, a resident of Morton. Around 2:15 p.m., officers responded to the unit block of N\u00a0Street NE for a report that a worker had fallen at a construction site, according to a D.C. police spokeswoman. The worker was pronounced dead at the scene after falling from the 10th floor of the site to the second floor, a spokesman for the D.C. fire department said. The victim was identified by police as 45-year-old <strong>Jose Rivera<\/strong> of Germantown.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\">Campbellsburg firefighter dies in the line of duty<\/h3>\n<p>LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) &#8212;\u00a0A firefighter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wdrb.com\/story\/36219303\/campbellsburg-firefighter-dies-in-the-line-of-duty\">died\u00a0in the line of duty<\/a> in Campbellsburg, Kentucky. <strong>Thomas McBride<\/strong>, 60,\u00a0died of an apparent\u00a0heart attack, officials said.. He was participating in search and rescue training around 9 p.m.\u00a0Thursday\u00a0when he complained of breathing problems. \u00a0McBride refused medical treatment and requested to return to training when he felt better. Instead, he was assigned to pump operations. He collapsed a short time later and died at the hospital.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"page-title \">PINELLAS DEPUTIES INVESTIGATE WORK-RELATED DEATH<\/h3>\n<p>PALM HARBOR, FL \u2013 Deputies are investigating a work-related accident after a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tbreporter.com\/public-safety\/pinellas-deputies-investigate-work-related-death\/\">tractor rolled over on a man<\/a> in Palm Harbor, the Pinellas County Sheriff\u2019s Office said. <strong>Steven R. Brakenwagen<\/strong>, 26, of O\u2019Brien, an unincorporated community in Suwannee County, died at the scene. Mr. Brakenwagen and his co-worker, Levi McFatter,\u00a0 26,\u00a0 had been taking turns driving a Kubota tractor and spraying vegetation in the power line easement. Both were employed by Natur Chem, which had been contracted by Duke Energy to spray the vegetation on the Duke Energy property. McFatter was taking a break while Mr. Brakenwagen was driving the tractor in a wooded area. When Mr. Brakenwagen did not return, McFatter went to check on him and found the Kubota tractor overturned in a deep hole, with Mr. Brakenwagen trapped underneath and unresponsive. West Haven police said Thursday that 24-year-old <strong>Jordan Garrett<\/strong>, of Moosup, died of injuries suffered in the Wednesday night crash. Police say she was hit by an oncoming car while trying to get vehicles to slow or stop.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"asset-headline\">Two Employees shot to death during robberies<\/h3>\n<p>Macon, GA &#8212; A man is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.13wmaz.com\/news\/local\/update-employee-shot-to-death-during-robbery-outside-macon-restaurant\/466862089\">dead after a shooting<\/a> Wednesday night at a Macon restaurant. <strong>Jian Fang Wang<\/strong>, 38, an employee at\u00a0Hot Wings Plus, 3479\u00a0Pio\u00a0Nono\u00a0Ave., was leaving the restaurant with two other employees at about 10:15 p.m., according to the Bibb County Sheriff&#8217;s Office. As the employees reached their cars, a man emerged from behind the store, approached Wang&#8217;s car and shot inside the vehicle several times, according to Bibb County Sheriff&#8217;s Lt. Randy Gonzales. The shooter then took a bag believed to contain money from the business, Gonzales said. The robber then left in a vehicle. \u00a0And on Tuesday night, Bibb County Sheriff&#8217;s Office <a href=\"http:\/\/www.13wmaz.com\/news\/local\/two-killed-in-separated-late-night-business-robberies\/466955988\">responded to a shooting <\/a>at the L&amp;C Convenient Store on Hillcrest Blvd. According to Lieutenant Gonzalez, when deputies arrived at the store, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and the cash register was open and emptied out. His death was ruled an accident. Doyle Burke, chief investigator for the coroner\u2019s office, said <strong>Douglas Mescher,<\/strong> 30, of Lebanon, was killed Tuesday when he was struck by machinery that weighs 26 tons. Tthe load he was under slid off the forks of a forklift and crushed him, said, Scott Allen, U.S. Department of Labor, Regional Director for Public Affairs.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"posttitle\">Worker Dies On Bel Air Construction\u00a0Site<\/h3>\n<p>BEL AIR, CA &#8212; A<a href=\"http:\/\/losangeles.cbslocal.com\/2017\/08\/24\/worker-dies-bel-air\/\"> worker died<\/a> Thursday at a construction site in the Bel Air Estates area. Firefighters were sent to the 800 block of North Stradella Road at about 12:20 p.m. on a report of a \u201csignificant medical emergency\u201d about 300 feet down a graded hillside, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. The 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sd-news-main-title\">\n<div class=\"component-story-title-v1\">\n<h3>Bedford County man dies in farming accident<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, TX &#8211; A Bedford County man <a href=\"http:\/\/wjactv.com\/news\/local\/bedford-county-man-dies-in-farming-accident\">died in a farming accident <\/a>Tuesday afternoon.\u00a0<strong>Charles W. Clapper,<\/strong> 59, of New Enterprise, was pronounced dead at 2:04 p.m. at the scene of the accident by Bedford County Coroner Russell Styer. \u00a0The accident took place on Halls Hill Road in Hopewell Township. Styer said Clapper died of multiple crushing injuries to the torso. According to dispatch, a piece of a machinery rolled over onto him.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title pf-title\">OSHA investigates contractor worker\u2019s death near Tonopah<\/h3>\n<p>Tonapah, NV &#8212; The Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death of a contractor worker outside of Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project in Tonopah. The victim was identified by officials as <strong>Brandon Carpowich<\/strong> of Henderson. \u201cDeath was from an electrical accident that occurred while the employee was working on a personal project, unrelated to the solar facility,\u201d said Mary Grikas, a spokeswoman for SolarReserve. The Nye County Sheriff\u2019s Office initial investigation showed that it was an accidental death in the workplace, however the cause of the death will be determined by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Chicago-area semi driver killed in crash near Sherman<\/h3>\n<p>Sherman, IL &#8212; A 28-year-old man was killed early Wednesday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sj-r.com\/news\/20170823\/chicago-area-semi-driver-killed-in-crash-near-sherman\">when his semi tractor-trailer struck a bridge support<\/a> along Interstate 55 near Sherman, Illinois State Police said. <strong>Mariusz Bednarz<\/strong> of Bridgeview was pronounced dead at the scene following the 3:20 a.m. crash. An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday morning, a press release from the Sangamon County Coroner\u2019s Office said. Police reported that the northbound truck went off the roadway to the left, into the median. The truck then struck the bridge support.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"e-article-title\">Bridgeport Man Dies After Delivery Accident In Ansonia<\/h3>\n<p>BRIDGEPORT, Conn. \u2014 A 47-year-old Bridgeport man <a href=\"http:\/\/bridgeport.dailyvoice.com\/police-fire\/bridgeport-man-dies-after-delivery-accident-in-ansonia\/719617\/\">died after a tow motor he was using to deliver wood overturned onto him<\/a>, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel.
