State police said <strong>Ryan C. Ouelette<\/strong>, 32, Lowville, was tending to a large integrity manure separator at Marks Farms, 6314 Cannan Road, when, for an unknown reason, his head became trapped by the roller inside the machine. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she later died of her injuries.<\/p>\n<h3>60-year-old man killed after becoming trapped while installing cesspool on Long\u00a0Island<\/h3>\n<p>SHOREHAM, N.Y. \u2014 A man was <a href=\"http:\/\/pix11.com\/2017\/11\/18\/60-year-old-man-killed-after-becoming-trapped-while-installing-cesspool-on-long-island\/\">killed after becoming trapped underground<\/a> while installing a cesspool in Shoreham Saturday morning, Suffolk County Police said.<strong> Kurt Peiscopgrau<\/strong>, 60, of Northport, was working with a crew to install a cesspool at a home located on Josephine Boulevard in Shoreham, N.Y.\u00a0 While working underground to install the cesspool, the ground gave way, trapping Peiscopgrau under the rubble, at approximately 11:25 a.m., police said.<\/p>\n<h3>Worker crushed to death by steel rack, cables at plant<\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"dateline\">BARTOW, Fla. PA &#8212; Pennsylvania\u00a0residents who came to the aid of a rookie police officer who was fatally shot and killed during a traffic stop say he was &#8220;gasping for air&#8221; and not responsive when they arrived at the scene.\u00a0<strong>Brian Shaw<\/strong> was shot in the chest around 8:15 p.m. Friday in New Kensington, about 18 miles (29 kilometers) northeast of Pittsburgh. The worker, identified as 55-year-old <strong>James Bland, Jr<\/strong>. of Versailles was part of a crew putting out cones on the road when he was hit around 8:15 p.m. Thursday on I-64 near the Watterson Expressway (I-264). Police said Bland died at the scene.Work zone fatalities in Kentucky have been on the rise since 2014, jumping from 4 to 7, to 10 last year. &#8220;He represents just one of many men and women who put their lives at risk to make sure we&#8217;re safe on the roads, so we really want to just acknowledge his sacrifice, and our condolences to him and his family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Truck driver killed in crash with Muni bus on Hwy 101 in SF<\/h3>\n<p>San Francisco, CA &#8212; The driver of a dump truck died after colliding with a Muni bus on U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at about 4 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 near the Cesar Chavez Street off-ramp, according to the CHP. The dump truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Five passengers on the Muni bus were injured but are expected to survive, CHP Officer Vu Williams said.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"Article-p Article-p--heading\">Baltimore police detective shot in the head dies<\/h3>\n<p>BALTIMORE, MD \u2014 A Baltimore <a href=\"https:\/\/www.policeone.com\/officer-down\/459616006-Baltimore-police-detective-shot-in-the-head-dies\/\">homicide detective died<\/a> Thursday less than 24 hours after he was shot in the head while working in a neighborhood of vacant lots and boarded-up row houses. At a news conference outside a hospital, Police Commissioner Kevin Davis told reporters that 43-year-old <strong>Sean Suiter<\/strong>, an 18-year veteran of the department, was pronounced dead shortly after noon. He had been on full life support at a hospital since getting shot once in the head by a gunman late Wednesday afternoon. Suiter was shot by a man he approached in a vacant lot in a particularly troubled area of West Baltimore, according to Davis. He and a partner, both dressed in suits as is standard for Baltimore detectives, were investigating a 2016 homicide that took place in the area. The worker, who neighbors say is 65-year-old Jose Furtado, was cleaning outside the Paterson store Thursday evening when he was hit by the cargo van. The driver of the van stayed on the scene, according to officials. The driver and a passenger of the van were not injured, police said. Furtado worked at the shop for more than 20 years, according to witnesses.<\/p>\n<h3>Man dies after being hit by bulldozer at construction\u00a0site<\/h3>\n<p>FLORENCE, Ala. \u2014 Authorities say a man has <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2017\/11\/16\/man-dies-after-being-hit-by-bulldozer-at-construction-site\/\">died after being hit by a bulldozer<\/a> at a construction site in northwestern Alabama. News outlets report that 55-year-old <strong>David Thornton<\/strong> of Carthage, Mississippi, was working on a new apartment complex in Florence on Wednesday. Emergency personnel at the scene said Thornton was struck after he walked behind a bulldozer. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Man dies after work accident<\/h3>\n<p>FLORENCE, MS \u2014\u00a0Authorities said a Mississippi man injured <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesdaily.com\/news\/local\/man-dies-after-work-accident\/article_d021982f-9034-5c34-85c6-2631e3045c38.html\">while working on a construction<\/a> site in west Florence died Wednesday evening at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. Police detective Sgt. Greg Cobb said <strong>David Thornton,<\/strong> 55, Carthage, Mississippi, died at ECM from injuries he sustained in the accident. Reports indicate that Thornton was critically injured in the accident that happened just before noon Wednesday. Emergency personnel at the scene said the man walked behind a bulldozer and was struck. The accident happened in the 500 block of West Irvine Street, which is at the end of the street.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\">Man killed in industrial accident in\u00a0Englewood<\/h3>\n<p>ENGLEWOOD, Colo. \u2014 A man was <a href=\"http:\/\/kdvr.com\/2017\/11\/17\/man-killed-in-industrial-accident-in-englewood\/\">killed in an industrial accident<\/a> on Friday morning, the Englewood Police Department said. Police and firefighters responded to All Recycling at 1775 W. Wesley Ave. about 8:30 a.m. after an explosion was reported. A man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The cause of the accident is under investigation. The man has not been identified, pending notification of next of kin by the Arapahoe County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"asset-headline speakable-headline\">Officials identify man killed in Camarillo farm incident<\/h3>\n<p class=\"speakable-p-1 p-text\">Camarillo, CA &#8212; A man found dead in Camarillo, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vcstar.com\/story\/news\/2017\/11\/16\/man-killed-industrial-incident-camarillo-identified\/871764001\/\">victim of an apparent industrial incident<\/a>, was identified Thursday by the Ventura County Medical Examiner&#8217;s Office. <strong>Eloy Rios-Vasquez,<\/strong> 36, of Oxnard, was found dead Tuesday morning\u00a0along Calleguas Road, a farm road nestled in orchards near Highway 101 and Camarillo Springs Road, authorities said. Deputy medical examiner Brian Applegate said it appeared that a vehicle had rolled over Rios-Vasquez who died from blunt force injuries. Rios-Vasquez&#8217;s employer, Oxnard-based agriculture company Reiter Brothers Inc., issued a statement Tuesday saying it was &#8220;cooperating fully&#8221; with investigators.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\">Stanhope man dies after being electrocuted at High Grade Beverage<\/h3>\n<p>RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, NJ \u2013 A Stanhope man died Monday after being electrocuted, Randolph Township Detective Lieutenant Christopher Giuliani said. Township police responded to High Grade Beverage, located at 86 Canfield Ave, for a report of a male who was electrocuted, Giuliani said. According to Giuliani, <strong>Sean King,<\/strong> 55 , was on a scissor lift and had been replacing an emergency light. That power surge ejected a 46-year-old female worker from the lift bucket. She was taken to Akron City Hospital. At last check, police said that her condition seemed to be improving.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"article-headline--title\">Worker killed when hydraulic lift hits power lines<\/h3>\n<p>Nashua, NH &#8212; A worker was killed Thursday in Nashua <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wmur.com\/article\/worker-killed-when-hydraulic-lift-hits-power-lines\/13144845\">when the hydraulic lift he was in touched electrical wires<\/a>, officials said.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"page-heading\">Retired FDNY lieutenant dies from 9\/11-related cancer<\/h3>\n<p>New York, NY &#8212; A retired FDNY lieutenant and first responder died Sunday from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metro.us\/news\/local-news\/new-york\/retired-fdny-firefighter-dies-911-related-cancer\">a 9\/11-related cancer<\/a>, becoming the 20th firefighter this year to succumb to an illness linked to the 2001 terror attack. <strong>Lt. Edward McDonagh<\/strong>, a 49-year-old father of five from Rockland County, battled stage 4 colon cancer for the past three years. The former Marine joined the FDNY in 1996 and spent three months working on the pile at ground zero after 9\/11<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div id=\"story-top\" class=\"col-12 story-top-row\">\n<section class=\"storytopbar-bucket story-headline-module\">\n<h3 class=\"asset-headline\">Two power line workers fall to their deaths from helicopter in Sulphur<\/h3>\n<p>SULPHUR, TX &#8211; Two California men working on power lines\u00a0in Sulphur fell to their deaths from a helicopter Tuesday morning. Deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff&#8217;s Office responded to to the incident at about 9:30 a.m. in area of N. Claiborne Street and W. Houston River Road in\u00a0Sulphur according to a release from the sheriff&#8217;s office. On arrival deputies found that two men, both in their 20&#8217;s, had been killed in a fall according to the release. Upon investigation deputies found that the men were working on power lines from the helicopter and that their safety harness failed because it had been rubbing against the power lines causing it to &#8220;snap&#8221; the release said. Both men fell about 100 feet to their deaths from the helicopter according to the release.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"headline entry-title\">Contractor dies after Whitehall Hotel explosion<\/h3>\n<p>Houston, TX &#8212; Harris County medical examiners on Wednesday confirmed that a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chron.com\/news\/houston-texas\/article\/Contractor-killed-in-Whitehall-Hotel-explosion-12360243.php#photo-14528117\">contractor injured in an explosion<\/a> at the Whitehall Houston hotel in downtown last Friday died Sunday in a hospital. <strong>Jose Zadezensky,<\/strong> 40, was one of two contractors hospitalized with burns Friday afternoon after an explosion in the basement electrical room caused by a circuit breaker. The cause of Zadezensky&#8217;s death, as well as the details of the accident, are still under investigation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"story-headline0\" data-article-id=\"293993046\" data-article-version=\"1.0\">Employee shot, killed during fight with robbers at Detroit wellness store<\/h3>\n<p>DETROIT, MI\u00a0&#8211; Authorities are investigating a robbery then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fox2detroit.com\/news\/local-news\/employee-shot-killed-during-fight-with-robbers-at-the-water-station-in-detroit\">ended with a fatal shooting<\/a> at a Detroit wellness store Tuesday evening.\u00a0Police say employees at The Water Station on Woodward Avenue were taking out the trash around 7 p.m. and left the back door open.\u00a0&#8220;Two suspects came in through the back door, one of them was armed with a gun.\u00a0 At some point, a fight broke out between the employees and the suspects, and employee 29-year-old <strong>Devin Lewis<\/strong> was shot and killed.<\/p>\n<h3>Man shot, killed in Madera robbery, suspected shooter arrested<\/h3>\n<p>MADERA, CA &#8212; A gas station robbery in Madera turned deadly. It happened around 11 p.m. Monday at the Tackle Box gas station and mini-mart on Road 26. According to the Madera County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, they received a call about a possible shooting. When deputies arrived, they found a <a href=\"http:\/\/kmph.com\/news\/local\/man-shot-killed-during-robbery-at-madera-gas-station\">male employee was shot and killed<\/a> during an apparent robbery. \u00a0Police have identified the robbery and homicide victim as 20-year-old <strong>Dharampreet Singh Jassar<\/strong>. He was working Monday afternoon and became entangled in a piece of industrial equipment shortly before 2 p.m. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. The Henry County Sheriff\u2019s Department responded to the scene along with the Paris Fire Department, Henry County Rescue Squad and Henry County Medical Center Emergency Medical Services workers.<\/p>\n<div id=\"WNStoryHeader\">\n<h3 class=\"\">Indianapolis tow truck driver dies after being shot on the job<\/h3>\n<p>Indianapolis, IN &#8212; (WDRB) &#8212; Police are looking for suspects after a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wdrb.com\/story\/36832097\/indianapolis-tow-truck-driver-dies-after-being-shot-on-the-job\">tow truck driver was shot and killed on the job<\/a> in Indianapolis over the weekend. Police say 47-year-old <strong>Stephen Deputy<\/strong> was shot several times around 11 o&#8217;clock Saturday night.<\/p>\n<h3>Plumbing apprentice killed in explosion at construction site<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>West Boynton, FL &#8212; Halfway through a four-year plumbing apprenticeship program, <strong>John Thomas Dillon IV<\/strong> had found his calling. \u201cHe loved working as a plumber,\u201d said his employer, Clem Winke. \u201cWe had just promoted him 45 days ago.
