According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the man was working on a car when it fell on him, killing him.<\/p>\n<header class=\"mod-header\">\n<h3 class=\"headline\">One man dead after fall at Shoun Lumber in Butler<\/h3>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"mod-content\">\n<p>JOHNSON COUNTY, TN &#8212; According to Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece a man <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wjhl.com\/local\/breaking-one-man-dead-after-fall-at-shoun-lumber-in-butler\/1175621981\">died just days ago at a lumberyard<\/a> in Butler. Sheriff Reece told News Channel 11 over the phone the incident happened around 5 p.m. Thursday at Shoun Lumber on George Shoun Lane. The Jones County medical examiner&#8217;s office said Thursday that he&#8217;s been identified as 57-year-old <strong>Timothy Leibold<\/strong>, who lived in Dubuque. Fire officials say Leibold fell Monday from an upper floor of a hotel being built. The Jones County medical examiner, Dr. Michael Weston, says Leibold died at an Anamosa hospital while in transport to an Iowa City hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Identity released of two workers killed in elevator collapse<\/h3>\n<p>NAPLES, Fla.<strong> &#8212;\u00a0<\/strong>Naples Police have released the identity of the two people who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4now.com\/news\/local-news\/identity-released-of-two-workers-killed-in-elevator-collapse\">fell after an elevator collapsed<\/a> Wednesday.\u00a0 According to investigators the accident involved two employees of Sunbelt Rentals,<strong> Enreique\u00a0Gonzales<\/strong>, 43, and <strong>Wojiech\u00a0&#8220;Walter&#8221; Iwansowski<\/strong>, 48. The two men were working on a temporary elevator shaft to the exterior of the condominium when investigators say the shaft failed.\u00a0 Gonzales and Iwansowki\u00a0fell approximately 110 feet, killing both men. No other injuries from construction workers or Club Brittany condominium residents were reported.<\/p>\n<h3>Truck driver killed in Highway 60 crash<\/h3>\n<p>POLK COUNTY, Fla<b>. &#8212;<\/b>\u00a0A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baynews9.com\/fl\/tampa\/news\/2018\/05\/11\/fatal-crash-shuts-down-eastbound-lanes-of-highway-60\">fatal traffic crash<\/a> involving a single vehicle shut down the eastbound lanes of Highway 60 at Hadden Road, east of Bartow, for several hours. The Polk County Sheriff&#8217;s Office responded to the Friday morning crash, which happened at about 6 a.m. A 2016 Hino commercial flatbed truck was hauling metal building supplies when it drifted onto the grass median, according to a witness.The driver appeared to over-correct and rolled over on its roof. The cab of the vehicle collapsed, pinning the driver.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\">2 dead after truck boom apparently hits Colorado power line<\/h3>\n<p>COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. \u2014 Two workers are dead <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tribtown.com\/2018\/05\/10\/co-truck-explosion\/\">after the boom of their truck apparently touched high-capacity power lines,<\/a> igniting an explosion, in southern Colorado.The workers (<strong>Joseph Anthony Sampedro<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Hey<\/strong>, ) were taking soil samples near the Ray Nixon Power Plant south of Colorado Springs Thursday when the explosion happened. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Local man dies in work-related accident<\/h3>\n<section id=\"article_content\">ALPENA, MI \u2014 A 52-year-old man who was an employee of Viatech Corp. in Lachine was<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thealpenanews.com\/news\/local-news\/2018\/05\/local-man-dies-in-work-related-accident\/\"> killed while at work<\/a> Tuesday afternoon at about 6:30 p.m. The name of the victim was not released. According to a Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration memo the man and another employee were operating a tube-cutting machine and cutting metal tube rollers used for conveyors to size when one of the tubes didn\u2019t cut all of the way through. They were hired by a company based out of Texas.<\/p>\n<div class=\"columns small-11 medium-10 end\">\n<h3>OSHA investigating death of Chicago man at Niles laundry\u00a0business<i class=\"fa fa-twitter\"><\/i><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content columns small-12 large-12 p402_premium end\">\n<p>Niles, IL &#8212; A laundry and cleaning shop in\u00a0North suburban Niles is being investigated <a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/news\/man-42-dies-after-becoming-stuck-between-conveyor-dryer-in-niles\/\">after the death of an employee<\/a> Tuesday night. A 42-year-old Chicago man died in an industrial accident after becoming trapped between a laundry conveyor belt and a dryer about 10:40 p.m. at EcoDirect Laundry and Cleaners, 6977 N. Austin, \u00a0according to the Niles Police. <strong>Pascual Gonzalez-Hernandez<\/strong> was found dead at the scene, according to police. Investigators believe he was trying to remove a towel that was hanging from the dryer in front of the conveyor belt when he became stuck about 10 p.m. He was found by another employee when they noticed a washer and the dryer were not working, police said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>OSHA confirms Globe plant death<\/h3>\n<div class=\"p402_premium\">\n<div class=\"story_detail\">\n<p>Selma, AL &#8212; The U.S. Department of Labor\u2019s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) confirmed a Globe Metallurgical employee has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.selmatimesjournal.com\/2018\/05\/09\/osha-confirms-globe-plant-death\/\">died after being burned in an incident<\/a> at the company\u2019s Selma plant last month. Michael D\u2019Aquino, an OSHA spokesperson, confirmed the employee\u2019s death. He said there is an open inspection for the incident, which happened on April 24. Dallas County Coroner Alan Dailey identified the employee as 26-year-old <strong>Stephen Jamar Shanks<\/strong>. Dailey said Shanks would have turned 27 at the end of May. He passed away Sunday at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"&quot;companionAd&quot;\">\n<div class=\"card-content align-left\">\n<h3 class=\"spaced spaced-xl spaced-top spaced-bottom\">Worker dies after a trench collapses at a Lake Forest construction site<\/h3>\n<p>Lake Forest, CA &#8212; A worker died Wednesday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/local\/lanow\/la-me-ln-lake-forest-construction-death-20180509-story.html\">after a trench about 17 feet deep collapsed<\/a> at a Lake Forest construction site, burying his body underneath dirt, authorities said.\u00a0Construction crews handling the grading for a tract home project were using an excavator to dig when a side of the trench gave way, said Capt. Larry Kurtz of the Orange County Fire Authority.\u00a0It&#8217;s unclear if the worker, who was not identified, fell inside or was acting as a spotter in the trench, Kurtz said. Anderson<\/strong>, 56, was operating a chipper for Brown\u2019s Lawn &amp; Tree Service while other workers were using chainsaws to bring down trees, detectives with the Bellefontaine Police Department said. Emergency crews were dispatched at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday to the lot. Anderson was declared dead at the scene and his body was removed by the Logan County Coroner\u2019s Office for an autopsy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Dump truck driver killed in one vehicle crash on Swamp Road in Newtown Township<\/h3>\n<p>Newtown Township, PA &#8212; A dump truck driver was killed Tuesday morning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buckslocalnews.com\/news\/newtown_area\/dump-truck-driver-killed-in-one-vehicle-crash-on-swamp\/article_c817f67f-5f89-5ce2-bde0-667fa1a724ff.html\">when his rig overturned<\/a> on Swamp Road and slammed into a telephone pole just south of Twining Bridge Road. Police said<strong> Zafer Akar,<\/strong> 33, was driving south on Swamp Road around 11 a.m. when the tri-axle truck, loaded with crushed stone, overturned. The truck impaced a PECO telephone pole knocking out power to the area.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\">Vehicle explosion kills one man in Lebanon\u00a0County<\/h3>\n<p>East Hanover Township, PA &#8212; It was around 9:30 Wednesday morning<a href=\"http:\/\/fox43.com\/2018\/05\/09\/vehicle-explosion-kills-one-man-in-lebanon-county\/\"> when disaster struck<\/a> in the JP Donmeyer INC. parking lot in East Hanover Township, Lebanon County.\u00a0State police say 69 year-old Michael Floyd of Harrisburg was driving a truck tractor to a back parking lot to hook up a trailer. \u201cAnother person that works for the company, he was driving a van down there to essentially pick him up and drive him back up to the building,\u201d said Trooper David Beohm with the Pennsylvania State Police. That person was 65 year-old <strong>Stephen Miller<\/strong> of Lebanon. As Floyd got out of the truck to get into the van, the van exploded, killing Miller immediately and sending Floyd to the Hershey Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries from the shrapnel.\u00a0\u201cSo the van that he was in, they call it their maintenance van or something to that effect, it had acetylene and oxygen tanks in it, air compressor, the welding equipment in it. Callers reported the truck went\u00a0down an embankment near mile post 24, six miles north of the Cedar Pocket campground, according to a preliminary report from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Troopers found the truck in a dry wash, with the driver dead.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Johnson City man killed in work-related accident at Unicoi factory<\/h3>\n<p>UNICOI COUNTY, TN (WJHL) &#8211; Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley confirmed a Johnson City man<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wjhl.com\/local\/johnson-city-man-killed-in-work-related-accident-at-unicoi-factory\/1167335960\"> died on the job<\/a> on Monday. Hensley said the man worked at Specialty Tires on Unicoi Drive in Unicoi County.The man, whom Hensley identified as <strong>Ben Shew<\/strong> of Johnson City, worked in maintenance for the company. Hensley said the man\u2019s clothing got caught in a machine\u2019s conveyor belt.\u00a0\u00a0Specialty Tires is a tire manufacturer.<\/p>\n<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h3>Construction Worker Killed in ATV Accident<\/h3>\n<p>JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH, La. \u2013\u00a0 KLFY reports that a construction worker operating an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) was <a href=\"http:\/\/sunnewsreport.com\/construction-worker-killed-in-atv-accident\/\">killed when he traveled into the path of another vehicl<\/a>e near Jennings. According to a preliminary investigation, 27-year-old <strong>Drake James Scrantz<\/strong> was operating a Polaris Ranger when he attempted to enter the I-10 South Frontage Road from an adjacent median when he was struck by a westbound Dodge pickup truck. At the time of the crash, Scrantz was attempting to return to a construction yard after conducting road work operations nearby. Authorities say\u00a0Scrantz, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the ATV and died as a result of his injuries.
