CMS Energy, which owns the facility, released a statement Monday confirming the worker&#8217;s death. The worker&#8217;s name and the circumstances leading to his death were not released. CMS is the parent company of Consumers Energy, which provides electric and natural gas service to much of Mid-Michigan. The Genesee Power Station at 5310 N. Dort Highway burns waste wood from pallets, crates and other sources to generate electricity. The plant burns a small amount of tires with the wood, as well.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">2 deputies shot dead when inmate overpowered them near courthouse<\/h3>\n<p>Kansas City, MO &#8212; Two Sheriff&#8217;s deputies were <a href=\"http:\/\/abc7.com\/news\/1-deputy-shot-dead-another-critically-injured-when-inmate-overpowered-them\/3606585\/\">fatally shot when an inmate overpowered them<\/a> near a Kansas courthouse on Friday, officials said. The deadly altercation took place about 11:30 a.m. when the two Wyandotte County sheriff&#8217;s deputies in Kansas City pulled into the parking lot and were readying to transport inmates to court, said Kelli Bailiff of the sheriff&#8217;s office. It&#8217;s very possible the deputies were attacked with their own guns, Bailiff said. <strong>Deputy Patrick Rohrer<\/strong>, 35, was taken to a hospital where he later died, Kansas City police said. <strong>Deputy Theresa King<\/strong>, 44, was rushed to University of Kansas Medical Center in critical condition. New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey says 65-year-old <strong>Clarence Silviking Jr.<\/strong> was pronounced dead at a Louisville, Kentucky, hospital from injuries sustained in the accident Monday morning at Duke&#8217;s Gallagher Station. Goad died on Saturday, June 16, due to injuries sustained during a fire at Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RFAAP) on Monday, June 11.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\"><span class=\"dfm-title optimizely-3085137\">Man dies after trench collapses at Grand County construction site<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Granby, CO &#8212;\u00a0 A man (<strong>Rosario &#8220;Chayo&#8221; Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>) was killed Thursday at a construction site in Grand County <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2018\/06\/15\/grand-county-construction-death\/\">after a trench he was working in collapsed<\/a>. The Granby Police Department says it was called out to the scene about 10 a.m. The man was eventually pulled from the trench, but was unresponsive. Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and the man died at Middle Park Medical Center, police said in a news release.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Man Killed in Bucket Truck Near Power Lines<\/h3>\n<p>Springfield, Fla. &#8211; First responders were on scene Friday afternoon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mypanhandle.com\/news\/man-killed-in-bucket-truck-near-power-lines\/1242451129\">after a man was found dead<\/a> in a bucket truck near power lines.\u00a0 The incident happened shortly after 3 pm. on Cocoa Avenue in Springfield.\u00a0 Panama City Fire, Springfield police, and Gulf Power employees all responded to the scene. According to Springfield\u00a0Police Chief Barry\u00a0Roberts, the 35 year old man was an employee of a local tree trimming business and came into contact with active power lines. \u00a0his name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Tennessee deputy killed: 1 in custody after manhunt; woman charged with murder<\/h3>\n<p>Dickson County, TN &#8212; A man wanted on suspicion of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/news\/national\/tennessee-deputy-killed-woman-charged-with-murder-manhunt-continues-for-second-suspect\/84eCNkhpZWysHUYjrzeaiO\/\"> killing a Dickson County sheriff\u2019s deputy<\/a> earlier this week was arrested without incident Friday morning after he was spotted by a Tennessee state trooper, officials said at a news conference. <strong>Sgt. Michigan State Police had to shut down the interstate for hours at Warren Avenue.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"f3 f2-l sans-serif mt0 mb2 fw8 lh-solid\">Utility worker dies in accident at central Washington dam<\/h3>\n<p>WENATCHEE, Wash. \u2013 The Chelan Public Utility District says an employee (<strong>Edward Bromiley<\/strong>) has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spokesman.com\/stories\/2018\/jun\/15\/utility-worker-dies-in-accident-at-central-washing\/\">died while working at a hydroelectric dam<\/a> south of Wenatchee. The utility says a 40-year-old employee working on the spillway at Rock Island Dam on Wednesday was hit by a piece of steel from the spillway structure. Co-workers provided first aid until medics arrived but the worker died. The utility did not identify the employee.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Man dies in Curry County dairy shooting<\/h3>\n<p>CURRY COUNTY, N.M. He was standing at about the middle of the flatbed trailer when the driver of another semi and trailer sideswiped him. Peters was pinched between the two trailers, police said. He died at the scene.<\/p>\n<h3>Berwyn man dead after being run over by trailer at CSX rail yard on South\u00a0Side<\/h3>\n<p>West Englewood, IL &#8212; A Berwyn man was pronounced dead <a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/news\/man-dead-after-incident-at-csx-rail-yard-in-west-englewood\/\">after being run over by a trailer<\/a> Wednesday morning at the CSX rail yard in West Englewood. Paramedics were called about 11:30 a.m. for a \u201cdriver down\u201d at the CSX Intermodal Terminal rail yard at 2101 W. 59th St., according to the Chicago Fire Department. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.The Cook County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office identified him as<strong> Gabriel Sanchez<\/strong>, 47. An autopsy was conducted Thursday, but a ruling on his death was pending further investigation. Sanchez was working at the rail yard for Strictly Trailer Repair, Inc., according to Rhonda Burke, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of Labor. The Westmont-based company is a contractor at the CSX facility. Sanchez was operating a \u201cspotter trailer\u201d when he was struck by the driver\u2019s side, rear tandem wheels of the trailer as he was moving a piece of equipment for repair, Burke said. The incident was reported at about 2:10 p.m. in the area of Annapolis Road just east of Piney Orchard Parkway in Odenton.\u00a0 The construction worker, a man in his thirties, made contact with an electrical line, said an Anne Arundel fire spokesperson. Paramedics tried to resuscitate the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/div>\n<div>\n<header class=\"mod-header\">\n<h3 class=\"headline\">Body of worker trapped after gas station blast located<\/h3>\n<p class=\"headline\">BENSALEM, Pa.\u00a0(AP)\u00a0&#8211; Officials say the body of a man trapped underground by a gas station explosion in Pennsylvania has been located, but efforts to recover the body continue. Bensalem Public Safety Director Fred Harran says 2 feet of debris is hampering recovery of the body near one of the station&#8217;s three 8,000-gallon (30,000-liter) gasoline tanks. Harran said workers were trying to remove water from the vault surrounding the gasoline tank at the Liberty Gas station when the blast occurred around 5 p.m. Tuesday, trapping the victim.\u00a0Another man rushed to a hospital was reported in critical but stable condition Wednesday.
