Houston, TX — A train worker was killed Friday morning when he was struck by a train<\/a> he was guiding out of a Harris County rail yard, authorities said.\u00a0 A train was reversing out of the rail yard in the area of 1755 Terminal,\u00a0 and an 18-wheeler was simultaneously crossing the tracks, according to\u00a0a tweet from Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.\u00a0 The train driver apparently struck the employee, possibly pinning him against the 18-wheeler.<\/p>\n

49-year-old woman killed by front-end loader<\/h3>\n

The victim was Jonathan Harrison<\/strong>, 26, of Vale. Wolfe said Harrison was a part of a crew from the irrigation district hauling material to shore up a canal bank<\/p>\n

Maryland AAA Worker Killed In I-70 Crash After Stopping To Change Tire<\/h3>\n

MARRIOTTSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) \u2014\u00a0<\/strong>State troopers are investigating a crash that killed a AAA tow truck worker<\/a> Thursday morning in Howard County. \u00a0The driver was 38-year-old Muhammad Shehzad.<\/strong> The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on eastbound I-70 in Marriottsville. Maryland state troopers said that Shehzad had just finished changing a flat tire on the side of the road when a pickup truck hit him and his work van. Shehzad was wearing a safety vest and his emergency lights were flashing.<\/p>\n

N.H. state trooper killed after tractor-trailer hits cruiser<\/h3>\n

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. \u2014\u00a0A New Hampshire state trooper was killed in the line of duty Thursday after a collision with a tractor-trailer.\u00a0According to\u00a0CBS Boston<\/a>, Staff Sgt. Jesse Sherrill,<\/strong> 44, was working a construction detail when the truck slammed into his cruiser. Sherill was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. York County man died as a result of blunt force injuries in workplace accident Monday night<\/h3>\n

East Manchester Township, PA — A York County man died Monday night as a result of blunt force injuries sustained during a workplace accident<\/a> at Johnson Controls in East Manchester Township, according to the York County Coroner\u2019s Office. Christopher Raul<\/strong>, 20, was pinned under a piece of equipment at around 7 p.m., according to a\u00a0previous report.<\/a> He was transported to WellSpan York Hospital, where despite life-saving measures, he died of his injuries. Raul\u2019s manner of death was ruled accidental, according to the York County coroner.<\/p>\n

65-year-old Green Bay man dies in Seymour workplace incident<\/h3>\n

SEYMOUR, WI \u2013 A 65-year-old man from Green Bay died Monday afternoon<\/a> in what Seymour police are calling\u00a0a workplace incident. Police and emergency medical services were dispatched just before 2 p.m. to the\u00a0loading dock of\u00a0pallet supplier\u00a0Performance Corp., located in the 100 block of North Mainline Drive, where the incident occurred, Seymour Police Chief Isaac Schultz said.\u00a0 Police are not yet releasing information on the man’s identity or his cause of death.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Truck Driver Killed In Eastern Iowa I-80 Crash<\/h3>\n

Cedar County, IA — A truck driver is dead after an eastern crash<\/a> this (Wednesday) morning. The Iowa State Patrol says 38-year-old Reynold Madara of Woodward, Oklahoma was getting back on I-80 after securing a load in Cedar County, when his semi was rear-ended by a second semi. The crash happened in the westbound lanes of I-80, at mile marker 277 at 7:10 a.m. Both semis went into the north ditch. The driver of the second truck, 52-year-old Jan Bisek<\/strong> of LaGrange, Illinois was killed.<\/p>\n

Truck Driver Killed in Rear-End Crash on Interstate 30 in Royse City, TX<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

Royse City, TX — October 26, 2021, a truck driver was killed<\/a> after rear-ending slowed traffic along Interstate 30 in Royse City.\u00a0 <\/span>Authorities say the incident happened Tuesday morning on I-30 near the Circle Drive exit. Preliminary investigation suggests traffic was backed up and slowed in the area when the victim’s semi-truck rear-ended the trailer of another 18-wheeler. The impact then pushed the rear-ended truck into a car ahead of it. The driver of the truck that hit the trailer was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Spring Township PA — The federal agency that oversees workplace safety launched an investigation after a worker died Monday at a construction site<\/a> in Spring Township, a spokesperson wrote in an email Tuesday. <\/span>Anthony Laterzo<\/b>, 27, received a fatal electric shock after an excavator struck an overhead power line, an Occupational Safety and Health Administration spokesperson wrote. County coroner Scott Sayers wrote in a news release that Laterzo was standing in a ditch when the electricity traveled through the equipment and into the ground. He died of high voltage electrocution, Sayers wrote. His death was ruled accidental.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Burrillville man’s family demands answers after workplace death involving cement truck<\/h3>\n

BURRILLVILLE, R.I.\u00a0 \u2014 Family members of a Burrillville man who was fatally injured at work<\/a> say they still have many unanswered questions about how it happened. <\/span>Matthew Maynard<\/b>, 33, was killed Thursday morning at the Greenville Ready Mix company in Smithfield, a police statement said last week. According to the police statement, Maynard was performing maintenance on a cement truck when he suddenly got caught in the truck’s hopper. <\/span>“I’ve been trying to get answers for how, why. Fire claims life of Yuma County firefighter as he headed to fellow firefighter\u2019s funeral<\/h3>\n

YUMA COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) \u2014 A Yuma County firefighter died Tuesday afternoon<\/a> when high winds changed the direction of a running fire, claiming his life. <\/span>Larry Wyant<\/b>, a firefighter with the Joes Fire Department, was headed to the funeral of another area firefighter when a combine sparked a fire in a cornfield, the department told FOX31. <\/span>\u201cEvery volunteer firefighter stopped what they were doing to come together and help and get containment of this fire,\u201d the Joes Fire Department posted on Facebook.<\/span><\/p>\n

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A Harris County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable, Deputy Kareem Atkins<\/strong>, who was shot and killed while working an extra security job<\/a> has been laid to rest.\u00a0 He had just returned from paternity leave when he was shot and killed.\u00a0 Those who know the deputies say they were best friends. The three men worked together at the Precinct 4 Deputy Constable’s Office, and they all worked an extra security job together at a bar on the North Freeway on the morning of Oct. 16.\u00a0 As they tried to make an arrest, investigators say a man ambushed them with an AR-15 before running away. Atkins was killed at the scene.<\/p>\n
